Ways to Support a Caregiver
Caregivers often miss out on help due to the ‘Let Me Know’ trap—vague offers that exhaust them further by requiring planning. The Caregiver Respite Card is a direct solution. When offered help, caregivers can immediately present the card, which features a simple menu of specific tasks (e.g., ‘Sit with Mom for two hours’). This shifts the planning burden to the helper, turning vague promises into concrete relief and making essential respite accessible.
Problem: Vague offers of help (“Let me know”) burden caregivers with planning, leading to missed support.
Solution: The Caregiver Respite Card.
How it works: Caregivers present the card when help is offered. The card provides a simple menu of concrete tasks (e.g., “Sit with Mom,” “Pick up groceries”).
Benefit: Shifts planning to the helper, bypasses awkward conversations, and makes essential respite easier to obtain, ensuring caregivers get needed breaks. Caregiver Support Respite Card
