The Ombudsman Program serves residents in Oklahoma long-term care facilities including nursing homes, assisted living, and residential care facilities. An Ombudsman helps improve the quality of life and the quality of care available to the residents. A long-term care Ombudsman is someone who receives complaints from residents of long-term care facilities or anyone who has contact with residents. Ombudsman attempts to resolve those complaints by communicating with the facility and others associated with complaint. The Ombudsman has authority to explore problems and make recommendations with resident’s consent.
