PROGRAMS:
Partners in Policymaking – designed for adults with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities who are too young to advocate for themselves, and advocates for persons with disabilities.
Youth Leadership Forum – YLF is an intense educational and motivational week held every summer on a university campus. Student will work in small and large groups, create their own personal leadership plans and work to identify resources that can help them achieve their goals. The MOST FUN EVER activities are included as part of the goal to teach you about leading a well-rounded life.
Self Advocacy Solutions – Our training curriculums were created with the help of the Redlands Partners. These trainings are led by adults with intellectual, and developmental disabilities (I/DD), sharing their expertise and experiences as they work to help other self-advocates to learn how to advocate. Opportunities for trainings are available for persons with disabilities, family members, and professionals.
Program Funding – The Council provides seed money for innovative projects that help move our approved 5-Year State Plan forward.
The mission of the Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma is to advance communities where everyone has the opportunity to live, learn, work, and play where they choose. The Council builds partnerships to change systems to improve services, resources, and supports for Oklahomans with developmental disabilities and their families.
